LEARN THE BEAUTIFUL ART
Hey everyone, I’m Nicole Woo, a macrame enthusiast, Youtuber, artist creator, online entrepreneur, and founder of Bochiknot Macrame lifestyle.
It’s a pleasure to have you here.
I created this website to share with you my love for macrame. I’m assuming that since you are reading this, that you too share this common interest with me. The idea behind this website was for the sole purpose of connecting with individuals, just like you.
By building a community behind what I love, it is in my greatest hopes that we are able to exchange knowledge, information, and ideas with each other so that we can truly grow and develop as artists.
On this site, I will be sharing my experiences, learning lesson, failures, and all thing related to macrame and building an online business with you. You will be able to read my blog as I openly and honestly share what has worked for me. (also what hasn’t worked) to help me develop and grow as a macrame artist, and as a person.
On this page, I have laid out 3 fundamental steps that you can take right now, to begin to propel your macrame journey.
Let’s get started.
STEP 1: Get Your Feet Wet
Macrame lifestyle is about committing to the mastery of macrame.
Behind every great success and achievement, there is commitment, hard-work, dedication, and sacrifice. By consistently always striving to be learning and improving, will you then be able to achieve extraordinary feat.
This is no different in crafting macrame pieces. I know for myself, personally, that macrame will be a never-ending journey, where I will always be learning and continuously evolving in my craft.
For myself, when I first began macrame back in 2016, I jumped in head first not really knowing what I was doing. What I did right was that I got started, but what I did wrong was jumped into the swimming pool not knowing how to swim. I made all the mistake that a person can make trying to self teach myself macrame. From buying the wrong type of rope, buying too much, cutting my cords to short, spent numerous times unknotting, and re-doing pattern. Everything single mistake that you can think of I most likely made.
Now, I’ve learned that I am and will always be an apprentice to the craft. I still continuously am always watching Youtube videos, reading blogs, pinning & saving designs, joining groups, and most importantly engaging with other macrame creators.
To help you avoid the pitfalls and mistake that I have made. I have made life more simpler for new beginners and for those looking to try out making macrame for the first time.
I have put together a Bochiknot Macrame Starter Kit. This Macrame Starter Kit is absolutely great for those that are looking to get their feet wet, but not jump in completely head first. The kit will allow you to get a feel for creating a beginner/intermediate macrame piece that once completed, you are able to hang it up for display for your friends and family to see. STEP 2: Invest In Yourself
A beautiful macrame piece can take shape in many different ways. But having the appropriate work station, materials, and supplies plays a tremendous part in your creative design.
One of the most challenging things for me when coming up with my own design is being able to visually in my head how it may look like, also how it might turn out.
What helps me come up with my designs, starts with an idea. I’ll gather inspiration by looking through other artist’s work to see what I like and dislike. A great strategy approach that I tend to always use is, I like to ask myself
“What do I like about this certain macrame design? and how can I make it better by adding my personalized touch to it?”
When you come from at it at this angle you eliminate the time being wasted trying to come up with your own designs and pattern. Use what works already and improve on it.
Once you have the concept down, and an idea of knots, sennits, and patterns that you plan on using. Next, comes the necessary supplies. For myself, when creating a macrame piece, I always choose quality materials and supplies. I don’t like to cheap out because I feel that it’s a reflection of your quality of work. But I completely understand for those that are just looking to get started and want to conservative with their budget. I’ve been there as well.

STEP 3: Invest In Yourself
I have always been a big proponent in continuous learning. As the saying goes, “knowledge is power”. As a matter of fact I would rephrase that and say “knowledge is potential power, it’s really what you can do with that knowledge.”
In this 3rd step, I’ve put together a comprehensive macrame tutorial video that will help individuals that want to learn designs, and master macrame to take it to the next level – To turn their passion into profits.
This is an online exclusive membership that will take you from a beginner to intermediate to an advance macrame artist. You will be able to join by clicking the link https://www.patreon.com/bochiknot
